Gov. Jon Corzine spent some time at the Colombian Independence Festival, held Sunday, July 19, in Hackensack, where he ran into Vernon resident Nilda Cedeno. Photographer Nicholas Ortiz reports that the region’s entire Colombian community went to the festival to see famous salsa groups from Puerto Rico and Colombia.
