Cell tower hearing postponed ‘til July

    Vernon — A hearing on a proposed Verizon cell phone tower for a Glenwood neighborhood has been postponed from May 13 to July 22. According to a spokesman for the Vernon Township Engineer’s office, Verizon called and asked for the postponement. The public hearing before the Vernon Land Use Board is now set to begin at 7 p.m. on July 22 at the Municipal Building. At that meeting, Verizon will present experts to give testimony about their proposal to erect a 140-foot cell tower and an 11- by 30-foot unmanned equipment shelter in a residential neighborhood.
