Centenary College will offer business seminars in August at SCCC

    NEWTON — The Centenary College Small Business Development Center will offer a number of seminars at Sussex County Community College in August: Launching your new business - creating the American Dream (two sessions) seminar will meet on Thursday, Aug. 13 and 20, from 9 a.m. to noon, in SCCC classroom E105. The fee is $70. Launching a new business is exciting but often overwhelming. This seminar will help participants get started and then assist them in the development phases, dealing with growth and profitability. Easy steps on complying with small business taxes seminar will meet on Friday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in SCCC classroom E105. There is no fee. This seminar will be conducted by employees of the New Jersey Division of Taxation to help participants understand tax obligations for small businesses. A significant amount of information is covered including: how to register a business in New Jersey, tax consequences of each form of business ownership, employer responsibilities, reporting business income, estimated tax payments, what goods and services are subject to sales tax and filing sales and use returns. The Centenary College Small Business Development Center is a non-profit organization funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the N.J.
