Newton — The Sussex County Chamber of Commerce recently held its 20th annual golf outing at the Newton Country Club. Each year proceeds from this major fundraiser support scholarships for Sussex County students. Over $123,000 in scholarships have been awarded to county residents since 1988. “With the help of the businesses and leaders of Sussex County, the chamber’s scholarship fund continues to assist many in our community,” said Tammie Horsfield, chamber president. “The scholarships we award provide opportunities for deserving students to continue their education. The long-term success of the Sussex County business community will be driven by the knowledge and dedication of these men and women. They will be taking on the challenges of the future - the education of these young leaders is crucial.” Key event sponsors included Embarq, GBW Insurance, McGivney & Kluger PC, Nisivoccia & Company, LLP, PNC Bank and PSE&G.
