Children learn about the supermarket

Franklin — The ShopRites of Sussex County were jam-packed with children, as RoNetco Supermarkets celebrated Take Your Child To Work Day on Thursday, April 2. Sons and daughters and grandsons and granddaughters spent the day learning about the retail grocery business. The day began with breakfast followed by a comprehensive store tour that included seeing the pharmacy robot in action, the composting process, pizza making and cake decorating and games and prizes for every child. It was all put together to help the children understand “the journey food takes before it reaches its final destination — the dinner table,” according to Christine Foster, a company spokesperson. RoNetco Supermarkets operates seven ShopRite stores in Sussex, Morris and Warren counties.
