Young entrepreneurs show and sell their wares Lafayette — After a six-week program in entrepreneurship, 43 Lafayette Elementary School students entered the business world at a holiday bazaar held in the school gymnasium Wednesday evening. “The students had to develop an idea, set a budget, estimate expenses and show a profit,” said Amy Steele, one of the three program coordinators. If the entrepreneurs borrowed start-up capital, satisfying the loan had to be part of their business plan. The lenders were usually the parents of the budding entrepreneurs. Students could make items to sell, enhance purchased items to sell or just re-sell purchased items. Goods on display included holiday decorations, jewelry, personalized stationary, original artwork, party favors, paper airplanes and chocolate covered snacks.
