Vernon — After two years as president of the Community Choral Society, Mark Delhauer has stepped down. A recently retired police lieutenant, Delhauer plans to pursue a second career teaching criminal justice. Although he will continue to participate in the chorale as a singing member, time is needed to prepare for this new career track. Delhauer, a long-time resident of Highland Lakes, joined the society in 1999 and sings tenor. He became secretary of the executive board in 2002 and then president of the society in June 2007. He said that he “will be available to the new president to help ensure a smooth transition.”
