Sussex County YMCA Executive Director David Carcieri recently attended a national CDC conference in North Carolina to discuss the Y’s “Pioneering Healthier Communities” program. At the conference, Carcieri discussed the ways the YMCA is working with policy-makers to make Sussex County healthier. Programs include working with school superintendents on healthier lunch options, making the most of physical education programs and working to make Sussex County more walker-friendly by encouraging more sidewalks and safer intersections.
