    April 27 Daniel C. Stoll, 21, of Branchville pled guilty to the third crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is presently anticipated for May 18. He admitted to possessing a bag of heroin in the bedroom of his home on Oct. 9, 2008. April 30 A juvenile pled guilty to third degree joyriding, fourth degree false report to law enforcement officers and various motor vehicle summonses. She was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 14, of Lafayette, was sentenced to 12 months probation with a six-month driver’s license suspension when she turns 17. She must also complete 30 hours of community service, attend school every day and follow all home and school rules, submit a DNA sample, undergo random drug testing, comply with counseling and pay $414 in various fines. In February the juvenile took a vehicle in Lafayette Township without the owner’s permission and was then involved in a mother vehicle accident with the vehicle. May 1 Sereca Thomas, 25, of Franklin, was sentenced to three years probation, was ordered to serve 70 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and was given credit for 70 days served. She must submit to mental health and TASC evaluations and follow all recommendations made, pay total fines and penalties of $205 and submit a DNA sample at her expense. She pled guilty on March 16 to possession of a wooden walking cane for an unlawful purpose, a third degree crime. Thomas admitted to the court that on or about Jan. 6 she was in possession of a walking cane that she used as a weapon during a domestic violence altercation. Daniel P. Morgan, 19, of Pompton Plains was sentenced to three years probation, was ordered to serve 92 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and was given credit for 91 days served. He must submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations made, perform 200 hours of community service, pay total fines and penalties of $530 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on Feb. 9 to four counts of burglary, all third degree crimes. On Dec. 1, 2008 in Newton, the defendant and a co-defendant burglarized two local businesses and parked vehicles, taking electronics, jewelry items and tools. Jacinda Moore, 31, of Branchville, was sentenced to five years probation, ordered to serve 90 days in the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program, pay various fines and penalties totaling $155 and $10,000 in restitution to be paid to the victim on a joint and several basis. Moore admitted that on June 15, 2006 she conspired with a co-defendant to commit arson at the Franklin Sussex Auto Mall. David Evicci, 19, of Highland Lakes sentenced with respect to his guilty pleas to charges contained in four separate indictments. On the first indictment Evicci pled guilty to charges of armed burglary, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon with the purpose to use it unlawfully and conspiracy. On the second indictment Evicci pled guilty to a charge of attempted burglary. Evicci entered guilty pleas to one count of burglary and two counts of theft in the third indictment. Evicci also pled guilty to the fourth indictment charging shoplifting. On the first indictment concerning the armed burglary of a Frankford Township residence on Oct. 16, 2007 Evicci was sentenced to eight years in state prison with the requirement, pursuant to the provisions of the No Early Release Act, that he must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence before being eligible for parole. Said sentence was ordered to run consecutive to three year sentences to state prison imposed on the latter three indictments (concurrent with each other). Appropriate jail credits were also granted. $1,180 in penalties and assessments were imposed. Evicci was ordered to pay restitution in the total amount of $5,404.89 on a joint and several basis. May 4 Sabrina M. Vivino, 30, of Franklin pled guilty to seven counts of burglary and five counts of forgery, all third degree crimes, and to the fourth degree crime of issuing a bad check. Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 12. Between Dec. 16, 2007 and Jan. 31 in Wantage, Sparta, Newton, Vernon, Hardyston, Hamburg, and Franklin, Vivino and several co-defendants broke into vehicles and took items from them, including credit cards and checks, which they then used to make purchases and get cash for themselves. Henry J. Boucher. 28, of Branchville plead guilty to possession of a prohibited weapon, a crime of the fourth degree. Sentencing is presently anticipated for May 20. He admitted to being in possession of an 18-inch sword that was concealed inside a walking stick after the car he was a passenger in was pulled over for a motor vehicle violation. Veronica Flood 22, of Wantage, was sentenced to three years in state prison with one year stipulated parole ineligibility. She was given 32 days jail credit. Flood was ordered to pay $380 in penalties and assessments and $2,214.89 in restitution. She was convicted of conspiracy and unlawful possession of a weapon in an armed burglary of a Frankford Township residence committed by co-defendants on Oct. 16, 2007. May 1 Valentia Bautista, age 19, of Saddlebrook was sentenced to three years probation, 60 days jail, substance abuse evaluation and treatment, $1,205 in fines and a six-month loss of driver’s license. He pled guilty on March 30 to the third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to possessing four bags of heroin in Vernon on Nov. 7, 2008. Thomas Sisco, 42, of Ogdensburg was sentenced to five years state prison with 24 months of parole ineligibility, $1,205 in fines and a six month loss of driver’s license. He pled guilty on March 25 to the third degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school. He admitted that on March 24, 2007 he gave a bag of heroin to another individual while in Barrister’s Bar on Spring Street in Newton, which is within 1,000 feet of St. Joseph’s Elementary School. Kimberly Decker, 50, of Montague was sentenced to four years state prison, $1,205 in fines and a six month loss of driver’s license. She pled guilty on March 16 to the third degree crime of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. She admitted to possessing a number of bags of heroin on Nov. 24, 2008 that she intended to give to others. Daniel W. Evans, 20, of Branchville, was sentenced to two years probation, 20 days jail credit for time served, substance abuse treatment and $1,205 in fines. He pled guilty on March 16 to the third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to possessing a bag of heroin in Frankford Township on June 18, 2007. Katherine Schneider, 22, of Highland Lakes was sentenced to three years probation, substance treatment and $155 in fines. She pled guilty on March 30 to the third degree crime of conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. She admitted to conspiring with other individuals on or about Nov. 7, 2008 to distribute oxycodone in the Township of Vernon. James A. Smith, 23, of Hopatcong was sentenced to six years state prison, $3,380 in fines and a six month loss of driver’s license. He pled guilty on March 9 to the second degree crime of distribution of LSD and the third degree crime of distribution of ecstasy. He admitted to selling 10 doses of LSD and five doses of ecstasy to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Guns Gangs and Narcotics Task Force. May 4 Richard A. Greenwood, 47, of Wantage pled guilty to the third crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is anticipated for June 12. He admitted to possessing anabolic steroids in Wantage on Dec. 8, 2008. Phillip H. Merring, 33, of Hawley, Pa., pled guilty to the third crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is anticipated for June 12. He admitted to possessing a small amount of cocaine in Sparta on July 14, 2006. Jesse Reinhardt, 23, of Ogdensburg pled guilty to the fourth crime of possession of an imitation firearm. Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 19. He admitted to shooting at people with an Air Soft pistol on Oct. 30, 2008 in Ogdensburg. May 7 Tex L. Hawkins, 33, of Stillwater was indicted by a grand jury on three counts of third degree aggravated assault and one count of third degree resisting arrest. The case was investigated by Sergeant Michael Burns, Patrolman Keith Curry, Patrolman William Terrill and Patrolman David Dehardt of the Vernon Township Police Department. The Grand Jury alleges that on April 10, 2008, Hawkins was found standing in the parking lot of the Vernon Township Police Department asking for help. While being escorted into the police department, Hawkins became agitated, striking several officers, causing injuries. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next six weeks. A Grand Jury indictment is a charge only. The defendant is presumed innocent until guilt may be proved at a jury trial. Kevin W. Puza, 22, of Franklin was indicted on one count of third degree attempted burglary. The grand jury alleges that on July 16, 2008, Puza attempted to enter the home of a neighbor without permission. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next six weeks. Puza was also indicted on one count of third degree receiving stolen property. The grand jury alleges that on March 5, 2008, Puza sold stolen jewelry to North Jersey Gold in Franklin. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next six weeks. Kerry M. Baker, 51, of Hopatcong was indicted on charges of third degree theft. The Grand Jury alleges that between February 2005 and September 2006, Baker stole funds in excess of $500 belonging to the Hopatcong Little League while acting as its president. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next six weeks. Baker was also indicted on charges of third degree theft. The Grand Jury alleges that between March 2006 and March 2007, Baker stole in excess of $500 in funds belonging to the District 20 Little League in Hopatcong while acting as the District Administrator. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next six weeks. May 8 David Slate, aka Shane Slate, 34, of Vernon, was sentenced to five years probation, was ordered to serve 180 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and was given credit for 67 days served. He must pay restitution in the amount of $83, 518.18 to three victims, pay total fines and penalties of $310 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He was also ordered to attend Gamblers Anonymous and submit to random urine monitoring. He pled guilty on Feb. 9 to forgery, a third degree crime, and pled guilty on April 24 to issuing a bad check, also a crime of the third degree. He admitted to forging a number of checks belonging to his former employer in a total amount of $80,028.28 between Oct. 14 and Oct. 27, 2008 in Branchville. On Oct. 27, 2008 in Hopatcong, he admitted to issuing a check to a painting contractor in the amount of $3,490, knowing that the bank account the check was drawn on would not honor the check. Fabian L. Rodriguez, 34, of Lafayette, was sentenced to four years probation and was ordered to serve 90 days in the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program. He must perform 10 days of community service, submit to random urine monitoring and continue with treatment he is presently undergoing. He must pay restitution in the amount of $799, pay total fines and penalties of $155 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on Jan. 12 to shoplifting, a third degree crime. On April 24, 2008, he took a Sharp 32-inch flat panel HD TV from a display stand at the Newton Shop-Rite, placed it on a shopping cart and attempted to leave the store without paying for the item. Robert M. Farruggia, 47, of Netcong, was sentenced to three years probation and 45 days in jail. He must also obtain gainful employment. He must pay $13,500 restitution, as well as court costs and fines and provide his DNA. Farruggia pled guilty on Feb. 3 to third degree theft. He admitted that between June 6, 2004 and April 13, 2007, he stole approximately $35,000 from the treasury of The Lenape Blazers Girls Softball Team while he was the team treasurer and used the money to pay for his own personal expenses. Brett E. Vanderhoof, 29, of Boonton, pled guilty to theft, a fourth degree crime, and to a violation of probation. Sentencing is anticipated for June 26 On Oct. 22, 2008, Vanderhoof and two co-defendants removed a trailer with 750 gallons of diesel fuel in it from a worksite in Hardyston Township. As he was on probation at the time of this offense, he also entered a guilty plea to violating that probation. May 11 Nicholas A. Meade, 20, of Vernon plead guilty to two counts of fraudulent use of credit cards, crimes of the third degree and theft of less than $500. Sentencing is anticipated for June 26. He admitted to double swiping customer credit cards and keeping the money for himself while employed as a gas attendant at GRM Automotive. In a separate incident, he admitted to stealing money from the Vernon Dunkin Donuts while employed there.
