Dance Expression company scores big in March competition

The Dance Expression Dance Company performed for the “All American Talent Awards” Dance Competition” on Sunday, March 5 in Wayne. The dancers were honored with the following: “A Chorus Line,” the production number choreographed by Dance Expression director Lisa Simko, received a Platinum Award, and the Overall High Score Award for a Senior Group, Katelyn McElkenny and Renea Rossi, both of Vernon, received a Platinum Award and the Overall High Score Award for a Junior Duet/Trio for their duet “Shake Your Groove Thing,” Caitlin Potosnak and Nicole and Colette DeGrezia of Vernon received a Platinum for their Modern Trio, “La Canta de las Americas” and Teen Soloist Caitlin Potosak also received Platinum Awards for her modern solo “For Casey,” and for her Jazz solo, “Feeling Good.” The Lyrical group, “Time After Time” the Senior Small Group Jazz number “Breakdown”, and the Senior Small Group Modern piece “Only You” received Platinum Awards as well. High Gold Awards were give to Brianna Smith of Vernon and Brittany Pakestein of Wantage for their Jazz duet, “Personal Jesus,” Caitlin Potosnak and Tara Gasparovic of Vernon for their jazz duet, “Never Did Nothin,” Megan Murdock or Hardyston and Kaleigh Hayes of Wantage for their Modern Duet, “Allegra,” and Soloists Megan Murdock for her lyrical solo “Beautiful Child,” Ashley Whelan of Stockholm for her Modern Solo, “Everything in it’s Right Place,” Gina Forder of Branchville for her modern solo “Person vs. Nature,” Tina Forder of Branchville for her modern solo “Let You Down,” Katelyn McElkenny for her Jazz Solo, “Build Me Up Buttercup,” Brittany Pakestein for her Jazz Solo, “Life of the Party,” Rebecca Beltramine of Hardyston for her Modern Solo, “Here Comes the Sun” and Leanna Grennan of Hardyston for her Jazz Solo, “Lonely at the Top.” Groups to receive High Gold Awards included the Senior Jazz Group “Agua,” Senior musical theatre group “Seussical” and the Senior Modern group “Hymn to Sacred Hills.” The dancers included: Karina Velez, Colette DeGrezia, Nicole DeGrezia, Caitlin Potosnak, Morgan Parker, Adrianna Velez, Ashley Whelan, Tara Gasparovic, LeighAnn Kabatra, Gina Forder, Tina Forder, Chloe Jaretsky, Deena Spaner, Rachel Nass, Samantha Chastain, Morgan Tarantino, Shelby Drake, Katelyn McElkenny, Megan Murdock, Leanna Grennan, Kaleigh Hayes, Michelle Imparato, Brielle Crowe, LeighAnn Lorenzetti, Brittany Pakestein, Brianna Smith, Renea Rossi, Rebecca Beltramine, Samantha Lorenzetti, Stephanie Montemurro, Erin Garrity and Maria Iacopelli.
