Dirt biker rescued from nighttime accident

The rider was rescued from the woods by the Sparta Township Fire Department, Sparta Ambulance Squad, Sparta Police, and St. Clare’s Paramedics.

On June 3, at around 9:17 p.m. the Sparta Township Fire Department was dispatched to the wooded area behind Angelo Drive, in Sparta, for a reported injury due to a dirt bike accident. The fire department was assisted at the scene by the Sparta Ambulance Squad, Sparta Police, and St. Clare’s Paramedics.

In a social media statement, the Sparta Ambulance Squad expressed their gratitude for teamwork, “Thanks to the Sparta Police Department, Sparta Township Fire Department, St Clare’s Paramedics and Atlantic Air Ambulance for helping us get to the patient, treat him, and get him to the Trauma Center as quickly as possible! Teamwork at its best tonight!”

Together the team was able to locate the rider and remove them from the woods. The patient was transported via Atlantic Air Ambulance 3 at the Mohawk Ave. Landing Zone and is currently undergoing treatment, according to a statement the fire department issued the night of the incident. No further details regarding the person’s name or updated condition have been released.
