A tired mom and a young snuggler are both hoping to be chosen Sophie is a large adult treeing walker coonhound. She had been someone’s hunting dog and has had a lot of puppies in her life. She was dumped in a South Carolina shelter pregnant and emaciated. Sophie gave birth there to nine puppies which further drained her energy and nutrients. When Sophie got to Room for One More, she was in such bad shape the workers there say they were speechless. In the end, she lost five puppies. The remaining pups were adopted and so was she. Due to a change of circumstances, she is back with us again. She is a wonderful girl, well-behaved and full of love. Toni is a medium-sized brown tabby about 12 weeks old. She is shy at first, but a love once she knows she’s safe. She likes to snuggle so much that when she was being held for pictures, she crawled inside the sleeve of the jacket worn by the person holding her. She popped her head out and went to sleep. She gets along with others but would do fine in a one-kitty home. Toni and her brother Jett are in a kitten foster home, but she’s ready for a home of her own.
