Drug use more common than some want to think

Our article last week on heroin in Sussex County drew a number of responses from readers. Some correctly pointed out that Vernon is not the location of “some of the country’s purest dope.” That distinction belongs to the New Jersey/New York region. (See clarification on page 2) This excerpted remark was posted by a reader identified as bobn. Your article is a welcome awakening to a very large sad problem on hand. You should also print this in the West Milford edition. Most people don’t believe there’s a drug problem in West Milford, especially in the Middle Schools..It exists only in Sussex County’s poorer sections in Newton. LOL!
