Earth Day, every day

First-grade students at Franklin Borough School observed the importance of Earth Day — to preserve the natural resources in the environment. The children participated in a garbage sort to recognize items that can be reduced, reused, or recycled. They were encouraged to develop and create new uses for discarded trash. The lesson also called for a commitment to cleaning up any litter, pollution, or other environmental problems. Pictured are Christopher Martinez, Cheyenne Mazzucco and Chelsea Bona.
