Evolvefest will be featured in Yoga Journal

Vernon — When the January edition of Yoga Journal hits news-stands later this month, yoga enthusiasts from around the country will read about New Jersey’s Evolvefest, held at the Hidden Valley Club in Vernon. Evolefest will be featured in an article on Yoga and Festival Culture. The 3rd annual Evolvefest was presented by creator and yoga instructor, Dave Bryson, over Labor Day weekend 2009. More than 5,000 people enjoyed camping, live music and yoga workshops over three days. Yoga Journal contacted Bryson to talk about this emerging grass-roots festival. Bryson said, “Yoga is a central part of Evolve. We start each day with Yoga from the main stage to set the tone for a beautiful festival experience. Last year Evolve offered 15 yoga workshops from area instructors over the course of the weekend. All the workshops were well-attended and everyone was just shining with that yoga glow! People were raving about the classes and the expert knowledge of the instructors.” When people weren’t learning tree pose or chanting mantras by the lake area, they could be found dancing with friends and rocking out to over 75 bands.
