Fall registration is now for The Growing Stage

    NETCONG — Over 6,500 young people annually have taken part in programs at The Growing Stage, with six classes offered this fall: Creative Dramatics, Performing Arts Workshop, The Actor Speaks, Musical Performance Lab, Yoga & Me, and Black Light Puppetry. Danny Campos, who has worked for TGS since 2007 and is known for his work with The Actor’s Garage and Kidz Music, is running the Creative Dramatics class for pre-school through third grade and the Performing Arts Workshop for grades four through eight. Classes will run from Sept. 19 to Dec. 12 and cost between $125 and $175. The Actor Speaks class, which will run from Sept. 19 to Dec. 12 and will cost $175, is for grades seven through nine, teaching basics of playwriting. The students will also develop their acting skills and will perform their original work at the final class. For grades four through six and seven through nine there is the Musical Performance Lab, which will focus on musical technique and end with a “show and tell” in front of a live audience. The class costs $200 and will run from Sept. 9 through Dec. 12. Black Light Puppetry, the newest edition to the Creative Arts Education Program, will have students adapt a piece of mythology and create two-dimensional fluorescent cardboard puppets. The class runs from Sept. 19 through Nov. 21 and will cost $200. More information is available at www.growingstage.com.
