Vernon — The Predmore Farm of Vernon donated a hay maze to the Hamburg School for its Fall Festival, put on by the school’s eighth-grade class for the benefit of the preschoolers and first-graders. It was all part of a day full of fall activities at the school, including gourd painting, arts and crafts, face painting, corn stalk limbo, a hay stack treasure hunt and a pumpkin decorating contest. Hamburg School prides itself on teaching social awareness as well as academics. Students are learning the importance of participating in their community as well as the personal rewards that can be achieved by doing acts of kindness for others.
