Augusta — Calling all businesses: here is a great opportunity to support the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show Foundation, celebrate the holidays and promote your business or organization. At 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, the Festival of Trees will kick off the holidays, and give event participants a permanent memento to take home. This is how it works: First, buy the artificial tree. (The foundation has them available for $42.) Next, pick out a theme; for example, if you are an auto supply store, think spark plugs! Air fresheners! If you are a sporting goods store, think fishing lures! If you own an accounting firm, think solar calculators, pens, hang glittery numbers from the branches. Participants can decorate with any theme, any business or promotional materials, but decorations should be hot-glued to avoid loss or damage during transportation. Need help? Any one of its talented and creative committee members will be happy to assist. During the Festival of Trees, a placard will be placed by each tree identifying the donor. Patrons can purchase chances to win the tree(s) of their choice. Chances on holiday theme baskets will also be available. There is no admission and holiday treats and wine will be available. It takes place at the Conservatory at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, N.J. For more information, call 973-903-0470 or go to www.festivaloftrees.info. The Sussex County Farm and Horse Show Foundation is a 5013C non-profit; all donations are tax-deductible.
