‘Fiera' to visit disabled student class

    SUSSEX — Maura Rullis, a speech therapist from Kittatinny Regional High School, will visit the Learning at College Experience class at Sussex County Community College on Monday, May 13 with her certified therapy dog, “Fiera.” The class was started through SCCC’s Continuing Education Department to keep developmentally disabled students in an educational setting with SCCC student mentors working side by side to help strengthen and develop life skills plus maintain social contacts. It covers a range of topics and subject areas each semester and students are awarded certificates at the end of each semester.
