Fire destroys condos

Vernon — No one was injured in a late-night fire at the Vernon Great Gorge Condos that destroyed homes and displaced five families. A single structure with eight units was destroyed. Three units were unoccupied. Vernon Police received a 911 call on Monday, Jan. 11 at about 11:20 p.m. They say the cause of the fire is still under investigation but it is not considered suspicious. In addition to Vernon Police, several fire departments responded to the blaze on Falkenstein Drive: Vernon, McAfee, Glenwood Pochuck, Sussex and Warwick. In addition, two ambulance squads turned out: Glenwood Pochuck and Vernon Township. See photos on page 3
