Firefighters to get equipment upgrades

    Hardyston — The Hardyston Township Fire Department has been awarded a $24,301 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant that will be used to update radio communication equipment and gas detection equipment. The radio equipment upgrade includes the purchase of portable, mobile and base station radios. The gas detection equipment monitors four different gases including O2, CO, flammable gases and Hydrogen Sulfide.
