Former mayor supports Rinker for Council

The upcoming Republican primary election on June 2, 2009 in Vernon Township is very important to our town’s future. At present, there are no Democrat or Independent candidates who have filed petitions for our Town Council, so it appears that the primary winners will be our Council members for the next four years. In the past two years our Regular Republican Organization sponsored council members have increased Township expenditures by 28 percent. This while promising savings through a four day work week at Town Hall, the merging of our Planning and Zoning Boards, and the transfer of our Health Department to the County. Clearly their spending of our hard earned tax dollars is anything but fiscally conservative. We need a change. Vernon needs an experienced business person on our Town Council, someone who knows what it takes to succeed in these tough times, and someone who knows how to say ‘No’ to unnecessary and wasteful spending. In this year’s election that person is Sally Rinker. I encourage every Republican to vote in our Primary on June 2, 2009 for Sally Rinker. John R.
