FRANKLIN POLICE
Aug. 10 At approximately 10:52 p.m., the Franklin Police were dispatched to a residence on Butler Street for an out of control 16-year-old male who had left the residence after damaging property inside. While en route to the residence, Officer Ryan Churchwell observed a juvenile male matching the description walking on Rutherford Avenue. When confronted, the juvenile became belligerent and he was arrested for disorderly conduct. The juvenile was subsequently released to his parent/guardian pending a court date in Sussex County Superior Court, Family Division. Officer Ryan Churchwell was assisted by Officer Jeffrey Korger. Aug. 15 At approximately 5:03 a.m., Franklin Police responded to County Route 517 for a motor vehicle accident. Investigation found that a Vieras Bakery bread delivery truck, operated by Edvaldo A. De Carvalo of Elizabeth, had left the roadway and struck two telephone poles after De Carvalo fell asleep behind the wheel. After approximately two-and-one-half hours, the northbound lane of County Route 517 was reopened. De Carvalo was transported to Saint Clare’s Hospital by the Wallkill Valley First Aid Squad for minor injuries. He was subsequently issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, failure to maintain lane and for violating touring privileges.
