Ground broken for veterans memorial

Tom Madsen General Contracting and Farmside Landscaping have volunteered to construct the memorial. Williams is among those who have been working to make the project a reality since 2007. Planners expect to have the site complete by Memorial Day 2010, with granite monuments, a bronze battle cross and engraved pavement. “The plan is to reinvigorate Memorial Day; this represents the people that are protecting our way of life,” Williams said.
