On Jan. 1, at approximately 9:50 p.m., Officer Ryan Churchwell conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a vehicle violation on Route 23. During the stop, it was discovered the passenger of the vehicle, Allen P. Higgins IV of Wayne, had a warrant for his arrest out of Paterson in the amount of $2,000, with no 10 percent option. The driver of the vehicle was issued a motor vehicle summons for improper passing on the right and Higgins was issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear a seatbelt. He was subsequently turned over to the Paterson Police Department. On Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 at 8:06 p.m., a 2003 Ford driven by John A. Jordan, 64, of Warwick, N.Y., was stopped after being observed speeding on Route 23 by King Cole Road. After a brief roadside investigation, he was arrested for DWI and his vehicle was impounded. He was transported to the Hamburg Police Station, where he was charged with speeding and driving while intoxicated. He was released pending an appearance in the Hamburg Municipal Court on Jan. 6.Sgt.
