    December 28 At 8:10 p.m., a 1995 Toyota that was being operated by Fawzi Qalagari, 54, of Hardyston, was stopped by Patrolman Erik Aronson after it being observed speeding on Route 23 by King Cole Road. Investigation led to Qalagari's arrest for driving while intoxicated and the impoundment of his vehicle for 12 hours under "John's Law." He was transported to the Hamburg Police Station, where he was charged with speeding, maintenance of lamps, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, refusal to take breathalyzer testing, and no insurance. He was released from custody pending an appearance in the Hamburg Municipal Court on Jan.19. December 30 At 5:21 p.m., a 1995 Ford pickup that was being operated by Michael V. Melina, 42, of Hackettstown, was stopped on Route 94 after a random mobile computer inquiry conducted by Patrolman Erik Aronson revealed that his driving privileges were suspended and that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Melina was arrested on the outstanding traffic warrant from the North Warren Municipal Court and transported to the Hamburg Police Station. He was charged with driving while suspended and being an unlicensed driver. He was released after posting $220 bail, and is scheduled to appear in the Hamburg Municipal Court on Jan. 19. January 2 At 5:04 p.m., a 2003 Ford Explorer that was being operated by Diane Butterly, 43, of Wantage, was stopped in traffic on Route 23 by Main Street, when her vehicle was struck from behind by a 1999 Nissan Altima that was being operated by Dennis J Marcus, 52, of Wantage. A 10-year-old passenger in Butterly's vehicle was transported to St. Clare's Hospital in Sussex by Hamburg EMS, due to a complaint of pain to her head. Marcus was issued a summons for careless driving, and is scheduled to appear in the Hamburg Municipal Court on Jan. 19. Patrolman Erik Aronson investigated the collision. The H
