HAMBURG POLICE
On Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 8:49 p.m., a 1992 Mercury Sable that was being operated by Robert Kmiec, 56, of Sussex, was stopped by Sgt. Erik Aronson on Vernon Avenue, after a random mobile computer inquiry revealed that the vehicle registration was expired. After a brief roadside investigation, it was learned that Kmiec’s driving privileges were suspended and that he had outstanding warrants for his arrest from Franklin and Wantage, with total bail of $675. He was arrested, and was turned over to the NJ State Police for lodging in the Sussex County Jail. In addition, he was issued summonses for driving an unregistered vehicle, driving while suspended, driving with an expired license and failure to inspect. He is scheduled to appear in the Hamburg Municipal Court on Sept. 18, 2008. Patrolman Jason Eben assisted with the arrest. On Saturday, Aug. 16, at 10:54 a.m., Justin A. Evers, 27, of Hardyston, was arrested on an outstanding warrant, after a mobile computer inquiry revealed that he had a warrant from the Newton Court. He was processed and released from custody after posting S750 bail. Patrolman Andrew Chase investigated the incident. Christopher R. Mackerley, age 22 was arrested on Aug. 1 at a family member’s residence in Hamburg after police were called to the residence at 11 p.m. It was alleged that Mackerley threatened to stab and kill a family member while he was displaying a pocketknife. He was charged with terroristic threats, possessing a weapon for an unlawful purpose and resisting arrest. Bail was set at $8,000 with a 10 percent option. He was lodged in the Sussex County Jail in lieu of bail.
