May 25 Marijuana plants lead to two arrests At 7:44 p.m., Hamburg Police responded to the Falcon Ridge Condominium Complex, where it was observed that marijuana plants were being grown on a rear deck of one of the condo units. After observing the police to be present, Deborah K. Mack. 49, of Vernon, took the plants and concealed them inside the residence. She was subsequently placed under arrest. While still on scene, Gerald E. Hull, 44, of Hamburg, approached the officers and advised that he was the resident and was the owner of the plants. He was also placed under arrest, and both were transported to the Hamburg Police Station. Hull has been charged with possession of marijuana in a quantity of more than 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a nuisance and failure to surrender controlled dangerous substances to law enforcement. Mack was charged with hindering apprehension. Both were released pending an appearance in the Hamburg Municipal Court. Patrolman David McNulty and Sgt. Erik Aronson investigated the incident. May 24 Vehicle stop leads to warrant arrest At 9:50 p.m., a 1996 Dodge Van that was being operated by Daniel J. Fletcher of Franklin, was stopped after being observed driving on Orchard Street with an inoperable license plate light. After a brief roadside investigation, Fletcher was arrested after it was learned that he had an outstanding traffic warrant for his arrest from the Somerville Municipal Court. He was transported to the Hamburg Police Station and was released after posting $250 bail. He was also issued a summons tor maintenance of lamps. Sgt. Erik Aronson investigated the incident. May 22 Passenger arrested on outstanding warrant At 12:55 a.m., Dawn M. Murphy. 30, of Sussex, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Hamburg Municipal Court, for failing to pay fines on a trespassing charge. Murphy was transported to the Hamburg Police Station, where she was later released on $350 bail. The driver of the vehicle, Kevin J. VanDyke, 28, of Sussex, was also issued a motor vehicle summons for a loud exhaust system. Sgt. Erik Aronson investigated the incident. Vehicle stop leads to warrant arrest At 5:25 p.m., a 1994 Chevy pickup truck that was being operated by Brandon J. Mitchell, 30, of Sussex, was stopped on Route 23 for having a loud exhaust system. After a brief roadside investigation, Mitchell was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant from the Wantage Municipal Court. He was transported to the Hamburg Police Station, where he was released from custody after posting $700 bail. He was also issued a traffic summons for a loud exhaust system. Sgt. Domestic violence arrest for terroristic threats and harassment At 6:58 p.m., Hamburg Police investigated a domestic violence incident, in which Antonio Testino, 48. of Hamburg, made threats on several occasions to kill the victim and himself. After further investigation, the victim was granted a temporary restraining order and several warrants were issued for Testino’s arrest. He was later located at his residence, where he was subsequently arrested on the warrants and transported to the Hamburg Police Station. Testino has been charged with four separate counts of terroristic threats (third degree crimes), and two counts of harassment (petty disorderly persons offenses). He was lodged in the Sussex County Jail in default of $33,000 bail. Sgt. Erik Aronson investigated the incident. May 21 Wanted Person arrested in the Hamburg Municipal Court At 6:48 p.m., John Gianopoulos, 47, of Vernon, was arrested after he was observed in the Hamburg Municipal Court and was known to be wanted by the Sussex County Sheriffs Office for failing to attend the Sheriffs Labor Assistance Program (SLAP). He was lodged in the Sussex County Jail on the warrant. Sgt. Erik Aronson investigated the incident.
