Mobile computer inquiry results in warrant arrest and shoplifting charge On Sunday, Sept. 20 at 10:15 a.m., a 1999 Dodge being driven by Kevin C. Maeder, 52, of Boonton, was stopped on Route 23 after a mobile computer inquiry revealed that his NJ drivers license was expired. During the course of the stop, it was learned that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from the Boonton Municipal Court. He was arrested and transported to the Hamburg Police Station. Once at the Hamburg Police Station, Maeder was charged with shoplifting, after being identified as the suspect in an incident that occurred on Sept. 6, 2009 at a Hamburg business in which he concealed merchandise in his pants and attempted to leave the store. Maeder posted $120 bail on the warrant, and was released from custody pending an Oct. 6 appearance in the Hamburg Municipal Court. He was additionally issued a motor vehicle summons for violation of touring privileges. Patrolman Andrew Chase investigated the incidents.
