Juvenile arrested for criminal mischief to a vehicle On Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 9:02 p.m., Hamburg Police were dispatched to a report of juveniles jumping onto vehicles in Heritage Lakes. It was reported that the group fled, however, they were located a short distance from the scene, walking from that direction, and matching the description of the suspects. After a brief on scene investigation, a 15-year-old male from Vernon was arrested for criminal mischief, after it was determined that he jumped onto the hood of a parked vehicle, causing damage to it. He was transported to the Hamburg Police Station, where he was charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and violation of the municipal curfew ordinance. Additionally, a 17-year-old male from Hamburg, a 17-year-old male from Franklin and a 14-year-old male from Franklin were all issued summonses for violation of the municipal curfew ordinance. All juveniles were turned over to their parents pending appearances in the Hamburg Municipal Court. Sgt. Erik Aronson investigated the incident, and was assisted by Hardyston Patrolman Brad Worman. Burglary suspect arrested On Sunday May 17, 2009 at 2:15 a.m., Hamburg Police were dispatched to a report that a person had entered parked vehicles on Lime Kiln Road. While responding, it was learned that the suspect had fled from the area on foot. Thomas E. Lozier, 42, of Hamburg, was located a short distance from the scene, walking from that direction and matching the description of the suspect. He was subsequently taken into custody. He was transported to the Hamburg Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of burglary, one count of possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Sussex County Jail in default of $20,000 bail with no 10 percent option. He additionally had an outstanding warrant from the Franklin Court for $278 bail. Sgt.
