    Domestic Violence Arrest On Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 11:25 p.m., Hamburg Police were dispatched to a domestic violence incident at a borough residence. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Christopher T. Kerkhoven, 21, of Hamburg, for domestic violence offences after it was learned that he head butted the victim. He was transported to the Hamburg Police Station, where hew as charged with simple assault and harassment. Kerkhoven was lodged in the Sussex County Jail in default of $500 bail. Patrolman Andrew Chase investigated the incident and was assisted by Hardyston Patrolman Michael Masters. Mobile computer inquiry leads to DWI arrest On Saturday, Dec. 5, at 1:05 a.m., a 2007 Subaru that was being operated by Charles D. Obrien IV, 22, of Vernon, was stopped on Route 23 after a mobile computer inquiry revealed that the vehicle registration had expired. After a brief roadside investigation, Obrien was arrested for driving while intoxicated, and his vehicle was impounded under the provisions of “John’s Law.” He was charged with operating an unregistered vehicle and driving while intoxicated. Obrien was later released from custody pending an appearance in the Hamburg Municipal Court. Patrolman Andrew Chase investigated the incident, and was assisted by Franklin Patrolmen Ryan Churchwell and Jeff Korger.
