Hamburg Post Office volunteers run successful food drive

| 22 Feb 2012 | 08:30

The employees of the Hamburg Post office would like to thank all the residents of Hamburg who contributed food for the annual national “Stamp Out Hunger “ food drive. The drive took place on Saturday, May 9 and the Hamburg Post Office carriers collected over 2,500 pounds of donated food while performing their regular duties for the day. The generosity of our Hamburg residents was welcomed by several local food pantries, including Harvest House, Harvest Home, St. Francis de Sales Church and the Salvation Army of Franklin. Special thanks go out to the following area groups and businesses for assisting us by posting signs in their buildings advertising the food drive, with some also acting as drop off points for food collection. Thank you to Building Blocks Day Care, Sparta Medical (Hamburg office), Paradise Pools, Body Boutique, The Corner Deli, Roberta’s Jewelers, Bud & Walt’s Auto, Quick Stop Deli, Vernon Pool & Spa, Advanced Self Storage, Bob’s Collectibles, Lakeland Bank, Discovery Years, Assembly of God Church and the Market Place Deli of Hamburg, who were all kind enough to assist us in getting the word out.
