Hardyston Police
Aug. 18 On Aug. 18, while on patrol, Sgt. Lee Gordon of the Hardyston Police Department came upon Elena M. Orrico, age 24 of Hamburg in the parking lot of Ballyowen Golf Course. Orrico was found to be in possession of cocaine and was arrested. She was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and tampering with evidence. She was released pending a court appearance. On Aug. 18, while on patrol Ptl. Bortak of the Hardyston Police Department came upon Ryan Nann, age 23 of Hardyston. Nann was arrested for drunk driving. He was charged with driving while under the influence, parking on a highway and failure to produce a registration. He was released pending a court appearance. Aug. 19 On Aug. 19, at approximately 8:30 p.m. the Hardyston Township Police Department responded to the scene of a five-car motor vehicle crash on Route 23 near the intersection of Silver Grove Road in Stockholm. There were two fatalities and five people were reported injured. The crash is under investigation by Hardyston Police and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office. Assisting agencies at the scene were the Sussex County Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Team, paramedics from St. Clares Hospital, the Hardyston Township Fire Department and First Aid Squad, Wallkill Valley First Aid Squad, and Hamburg EMS. The NJ DOT Traffic Diversion Team responded and closed the roadway for approximately five hours.
