Hunting accident baffles reader
| 22 Feb 2012 | 10:10
I am perplexed. Why? On Saturday, Nov. 21, a 13 year-old boy was hunting with his dad when the child’s shotgun fired, almost killing his father, who was air-lifted to Morristown Memorial Hospital. Why are children allowed to carry loaded weapons? This occurred early afternoon in the woods of Hampton, NJ. I never would have known this happened, if my eyes didn’t glance at the police blotter section in a Sussex County newspaper on Sunday. Why didn’t this rogue incident warrant a written story by a reporter? Is the media putting a hush-hush on all the hunting accidents that occur? If a black bear ate someone’s subway sandwich, it would have made front page news....you betcha! Susan Kehoe Highland Lakes
