Incumbent Republicans file for council race

SUSSEX — Sussex Borough Councilmen and Republicans Ed Meyer and James Fransen have emerged as the only candidates who have filed petitions to run for the two open seats on the town’s council in November. No other candidates have filed, according to Sussex Borough Clerk Catherine Gleason. The deadline for Republicans and Democrats to file a petition to run for a borough or township council seat was April 6. Candidates who are interested in running as an independent can still file petitions to the clerk’s office prior to the June 2 primary elections.
