Students from Lafayette Township School participated in the Sussex County Chess Championship, held for the first time at Sussex County College’s Lakeland Bank Pavilion. Lafayette’s two eighth-grade teams, Alpha Squad 7 and Quazi Normal competed with several teams from around the county. Alpha Squad 7 team, consisting of Brendan Miller, Roman Gernat, Robert Sharpe and Alexander May, earned a fourth-place trophy.
