Legion sets up drop box for ‘retired' American flags

Franklin — The Sgt. Francis M. Glynn American Legion Post 132 in Franklin has installed a new “flag retirement box,” which is now available for area residents to drop off their tattered and worn American flags for proper retirement. The box is located on the front steps of the Post at 1 Legion Place, behind the Shop-Rite. Flags can be deposited 24 hours a day. A flag retirement ceremony will take place at the Legion Post on Monday, June 15 at 7 p.m. Area Cub and Boy Scout troops will be on hand and the public is invited.
