Local author reads her children's book at library

Vernon Jayne Morgan has lived in Vernon Township for almost 30 years. As her children David, Jared and Jenilyn went through the Vernon schools, Morgan worked as a substitute teacher and taught allied health courses in adult education programs. Watching children and adults sneeze without proper etiquette gave her the idea of writing a book, “What to do with Ahh Choo?” She recently published the book and is giving readings at various libraries and schools in the area. She will be giving a reading on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Sussex-Wantage Library on Route 639 at 10:30 a.m. and at the Dorothy Henry branch library in Vernon on Oct. 15 at 4:30 and Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. “With the onset of the flu season upon us, it is important to teach our children how to prevent the spread of germs,” says Morgan. “Remembering to cover our mouths when we sneeze is a skill obtained through constant reminders.” She describes her book as “an innovative book that teaches this skill in a creative way through vivid illustrations, projects and silly story line.” It can be purchased online through Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com, Lulu.com and at Annie’s Book Stop in the Wantage Shopping Plaza.
