9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Mayor Howard Burrell will host a remembrance ceremony at 9 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on Vernon Crossing Road along with members from all Vernon Fire Departments, EMS, Police and Vernon VFW to pay tribute to those who perished. The ceremony will include guest speakers, a wreath-laying, ceremony and a 21-gun salute. Those who wish to attend must follow all current social distancing guidelines. #neverforget

Prayer Booth

The Legion of Mary at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Highland Lakes will once again attend the Vernon Street Fair from 11 a.m .to 4 p.m. The group will pass out literature and take prayer requests. The Patriotic Rosary will be recited to honor those lost and their families remembered from the attacks on 9/11. 9/11 Lights Memorial

Join Franklin Borough for “We Remember — 20th Anniversary 9/11 Lights Memorial” to honor those whose lives were lost on a day we will never forget. Twenty years later the community will reflect on the stories of not just loss and fear but also of hope and perseverance. There will be participation by local first responders, multi-faith prayers, local speakers, a musical tribute, and a presentation of victims’ names, culminating in a sky-high lights show representing the Twin Towers. Prayer Service

Holy Spirit Orthodox Church in Wantage invites the public to attend a special outdoor memorial prayer service at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, in honor and remembrance of the firefighters, police, first responders, and all others who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pa.

His Eminence, Archbishop Michael of New York and New Jersey will offer prayers.
