Barry Lakes holds annual members’ picnic

Despite gusty and chilling winds as a result of tropical storm Hermine, these girls felt compelled to enjoy what might likely be their last day at the Barry Lakes beach as the summer season winds down.
Music was performed by Dug The Band, which consists of Pat Black on guitar, John Van Vugt on drums, and Doug Glass on bass guitar.
Ryan McElwee, 8, and Gage Vandunk, 10, played on the beach with an oversized inflatable beach ball.
Fishing from the boat dock was also popular.
With his recurring role as master of the grill, George Tadiello kept the folks happy during the Barry Lakes Annual Community Picnic.
Dakota Inks, 5, has a butterfly painted on the face by Kerry Tobin of Highland Lakes. She is better known as Pixie Pop the Clown.
VERNON — The Sunday before Labor Day has for many years been the official day for the Barry Lakes Annual Community Picnic.
Despite Hurricane Hermine being reduced to a tropical storm and staying out to sea, Sunday was a great and sunny day for the annual community event.
Music was performed by Dug The Band, which is composed of Pat Black on guitar, John Van Vugt on drums, and Doug Glass on bass guitar. In addition to hotdogs, hamburgers and cheese burgers, a widely varied buffet was available in the beach house.
Face-, arm-, and whatever else you’d like-painting was provided by Kerry Tobin of Highland Lakes. She is better known as Pixie Pop the Clown.
