VERNON — With the help of Jeff Hansen of the Cliffwood Lake section of Vernon, Santa managed to find his way to the Barry Lakes clubhouse last Saturday for the lake association’s community breakfast.
For the very first time, the clubhouse also hosted residents of the Cliffwood Lake section of Vernon for the celebration. Cliffwood Lakes does not have its own clubhouse so they were guests.
The two communities are at opposite ends of Wawayanda Mountain’s Canistear Road. About 100 people from both lake communities enjoyed pancakes, gingerbread pancakes, sausage links and patties, fresh fruit, and the like.
Barry Lakes recreation direction Mary Ferreri supervised the volunteer kitchen squad and as Santa made the rounds from table to table in the packed clubhouse.
