VERNON — Bruce Zaretsky, owner of Smokey's Brick Oven Taven, hosted the second Avon for a Cure on Wednesday evening.
Patrons came dressed in pink ready to celebrate life.
Jim Hill of Vernon was DJ. Along with dancing, there was a raffle, food, gourmet pink cup cakes, temporary tattoos, hair extensions by Visions Hair Studios owner Arlene LaSecla. There also were special cockails from Kathleen Packard, Marybeth Scalici and Jacqueline Boshart.
As of Oct. 6, they have raised $3,700 during the Drink for Pink fundraiser. Hair extensions are still being offered until the end of the month. The money raised will be added to the total for an Avon walk for breast cancer.
