Choral Society holds concert

VERNON — More than 100 people attended Sunday’s spring concert performed by the Community Choral Society.
This year’s theme was “Thank you for Your Service” and included patriotic selections at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
For the first time with the society, guest cellist Victoria Meneses, 16, played a selection of patriotic-themed selections. Meneses also recently performed at the Vernon PAL’s annual cultural fair.
The choral society is under the direction of Danielle Kastner who was the conductor and Eleanore Hewitt O’Mara who performed on the piano. Former Vernon Township Mayor Janet Morrison is the society’s president. New members are welcome to join the group. The group is supported by the NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner of the National Endowment for the Arts, through the State/County Partnership Block Grant Program, administered by the Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council.
Former Vernon Township Mayor Janet Morrison spoke to the audience about Community Choral Society and then introduced guest cellist Victoria Meneses, 16, who will go into her senior year at Vernon Township High School.
