The Sussex County Commissioners on August 10 approved spending nearly $208,000 on the purchase of two minibuses for the Division of Senior Services.

According to Commissioner Jill Space, the money will come from grant funding provided through the Division of Senior Services.

“These new buses are vital for transit to continue to provide rides for life-saving treatments such as dialysis, medical appointments, employment, job training, grocery shopping and other essential services for Sussex County residents,” Space said.

Space said she recently attended a Zoom meeting about a study done by Skylands Ride about either increasing or improving the routes so more county residents can be serviced.
