Cub Scouts kick off new season

VERNON — To kick-off their new season of scouting, Vernon Cub Scout Pack 183 sent a little part of their hearts to Texas.
The scouts, kindergarten through fifth grade, stuffed 60 toy animals to send to one of Houston's scout councils to be distributed to children affected by the hurricanes in Texas.
Each scout included a heartfelt note or wish inside each toy as it was stuffed. They look great and will be on their way to their new homes soon.
