The Vernon Historical Society hosted an archaeology dig for seventh- and eighth-graders from Glen Meadow Middle School along with Bill Sandy, a registered professional archaeologist, at the Black Creek site off of Maple Grange Road. Artifacts found at this site have dated back 10,000 years. The dig last Thursday did not disappoint and yielded many artifacts that were given to archaeologists on hand for further evaluation.
