DOGS of Vernon hosts egg hunt

    Vernon residents Matt and Kelly Della Rosa brought seven-month-old hound mix Shea to hunt for treat- and prize-filled Easter eggs during the annual DOGS of Vernon annual Easter Egg Hunt.

VERNON — Dog Owners Gathering Society of Vernon held their annual Doggie Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday.

About 50 people and pups hunted for plastic eggs filled with dog treats and several with special prizes inside. In addition to the 25 dogs that hunted for eggs additional generous donations were received to help defray the cost of maintaining the off leash dog park.

According to volunteer Barbara Green everything was going well until around 12:30 p.m. when a strong wind gust sent the staging table and its contents across the field. Visit the DOGS Website at www.dogsofvernon.org.
