Farmside Landscape and Design wins safety award

SUSSEX BOROUGH — Farmside Landscape and Design announced today that it was recently awarded the highest level safety award, “Best of the Best”, from the National Association of Landscape Professionals.
The award, part of NALP’s annual Safety Recognition Awards Program and sponsored by CNA, honors those companies with thorough, high-performing safety programs that create and maintain safe work environments in the lawn and landscape industry three years in a row. It is designed to reward lawn and landscape companies that consistently demonstrate their commitment to safety. Farmside Landscape & Design was one of 5 companies this year to receive this award, out of a pool of 500 companies who participate nationally.
Farmside Landscape & Design was evaluated on number of accidents, number of days that employees were away from work, and number of employee injuries and illnesses. In addition, a checklist was used to rate the company’s complete safety program.
“Safe work environments show our employees and clients that we care. We will continue to promote safe work habits by our employees on a daily basis because we recognize the importance of safety in the workplace,” says owner Miles Kuperus Jr.
Some proactive safety initiatives the company takes includes having a weekly company-wide safety meeting to promote a proactive safety culture.
