The Friends of High Point State Park will sponsor their annual Winter Festival, a celebration of snow and ice at High Point State Park on Saturday, Jan. 25, from noon until 3 p.m. in the High Point State Park Interpretive Center.

Activities will include bird feeder and winter-themed crafts for children, storytime, sing-a-long, hot cocoa and cookies by the fire, guided hike, snowshoeing and ice fishing demonstrations (conditions permitting).

Weather expert Nick Stefano will stop by to answer winter-weather questions. The event is free, but a suggested donation of $5 per family is appreciated.

Snow date is Sunday, Jan. 26. Visit the Friends of High Point State Park blog for more information, www.friendshighpointstatepark.blogspot.com.
