Historical society gift fair extended
VERNON — The Vernon Historical Society will extend the Holida Gift Fair to Saturday, Dec. 21 at its headquarters at 293 Route 94 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The fair is extended due to last weekend's snowstorm.
Held for the fourth year in a row, the event will feature the handcrafted sterling and gemstone jewelry of Vernon’s Phyllis Pfeifer, as well as wooden crafts from local artisans, such as spoons, spatulas, birdhouses, frames, ornamental bowls, and a number of other affordable items made of wood.
Samples of Pfeifer’s jewelry can be seen on The Jeweled Pussycat page on the historical society’s website at www.vernonhistoricalsociety.com. For the event, Pfeifer will offer a 30 percent discount for all pieces more than $75. Her jewelry includes Sterling, gold, semi-precious gemstones, pearls, and marcasite.
Also on sale are photographs, pottery, books on Vernon Township’s history, and homemade baked goods. There also be free refreshments and holiday music. The event is open to the general public.
